What 90's Cartoon is This?!?

I have been trying to remember the name of it for ages and I still have not been able to. I don't remember much detials but I will give as much information as I can. There were about six (or so) young adults as main characters, they lived in a busy city and there were a lot of scenes in a comic store and subway. The animation was very distinctive. The outlines of everything were very thick and messy, sketchy really. There were a lott of dark colours and I think I remember one of the characters living in a small bachelor apartment with a mattress on the floor. If I am correct it was on teletoon late night and could have aired as late as 2006. Please help me figure this out!
