Etiquette for calling off?

Given the fact that you had a party planned that they knew of, you can still be held at fault. Look at it from management's perspective, you have to admit it does look like awfully convenient timing. Did you go to the doctor? If not, go before your next shift and get checked out, be sure to get a note for the day of your absence. That will cover you.
